As we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the University of Gondar and the 100th anniversary of Gondar Teaching Hospital, I’m proud to share that from October 2024 to today, we’ve delivered prosthetic limbs to 95 individuals—restoring their mobility and independence.

In Ethiopia, only one professional holds a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics, while most others have certificate or diploma qualifications. This highlights the urgent need for advanced training—especially in 3D orthosis and upper limb prosthetics—for our technicians to better serve those in need.

• Diagnosis: Bilateral Below-Knee Amputation caused by an electrical burn accident while working
• Type of Prosthesis Provided: Bilateral  Limb Below-Knee Prostheses

Thanks to the Limb Project, Abera now walks independently without any support — regaining his mobility and confidence to return to daily life and work.
