            • Yeshambel Worku DEMLIE
              Addis Ababa

I am public health expert and field epidemiologist with over 13 years of progressive experience in disease surveillance, outbreak response, and health emergency coordination, particularly in cholera preparedness and control. I have led national and regional efforts through Incident Management Systems (IMS) and Public Health Emergency Operations Centers (PHEOC), demonstrating excellence in coordinating multisectoral cholera response, facilitating cross-border collaboration, and guiding the development and implementation of National Cholera Control Plans (NCCPs) in line with GTFCC standards.

I have a proven track record in mobilizing resources, conducting operational research, and building national capacity in cholera surveillance, Oral Cholera Vaccine (OCV) deployment, and WaSH interventions. My leadership has been instrumental in Ethiopia’s integrated outbreak response efforts, and he currently serves as Chairman of the East Africa Cholera Control Task Force, fostering collaboration among neighboring countries for regional cholera elimination.

Committed, flexible, and results-driven, Yeshambel is a trusted technical leader recognized by national institutions, UN agencies, and international health partners. I am deeply passionate about advancing cholera elimination goals in Africa through evidence-based, community-focused, and sustainable public health strategies.
