About

Mohammed Assen is an academic, senior pharmacist, and researcher with expertise in pharmaceutical and public health research. He received his BPharm degree in 2014 and MSc in Clinical Pharmacy in 2017 from the University of Gondar, Ethiopia.

Since 2015, Mohammed has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals, contributed a book chapter to ‘Tuberculosis: Integrated Studies for a Complex Disease 2050’, and participated in developing the ‘National Clinical Pharmacy Service Implementation Manual’. He has also been involved in global research collaborations, including the Horizon 2020 EUROAGEISM project. In recognition of his academic and research contributions, he was promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Gondar in 2021.

His research interest focuses on drug resistance and noncommunicable diseases, particularly cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Drug Discovery and Development at the University of South Australia, focusing on strategies to overcome anticancer drug resistance and improve cancer treatment outcomes.
