I am a licensed senior anesthetist with a PhD and advanced expertise in health professions education and regulation. I completed both my undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc) studies in Anesthesia at the University of Gondar, College of Medicine and Health Sciences.
I am currently working as a project coordinator on a health workforce project implemented by Jhpiego. The project supports improving the quality of Ethiopia’s health workforce education, training, and regulation to promote universal health coverage (UHC). In this regard, I actively lead or contribute technically to different curricula, educational standards, regulatory systems, and strategic document developments. In addition, I provide technical and methodological training using evidence-based and standard education and training approaches. During all these tasks, I demonstrated excellent relationships with stakeholders and partners.
Before joining my current organization, I dedicated five years to the University of Gondar Teaching Hospital as a full-time faculty member, department head, and clinical anesthesia service provider. Following this, I spent two years in similar roles at Addis Ababa University. Throughout these periods, I consistently demonstrated effective teaching, leadership, and management skills.
